This project was a dynamic venture into creating a website that marked ŠKODA AUTO's debut in the realm of NFTs and cryptocurrency, culminating in an auction. The primary goal was to auction off specially designed hockey pucks, with the proceeds aimed at supporting youth hockey initiatives. Impressively, the entire project, from its inception to the successful execution of the auction, was accomplished within a record-breaking one-month timeframe, demonstrating exceptional efficiency and innovative prowess in digital technology.

A Puck for the Ages: ŠKODA AUTO’s NFT Revolution in Celebrating 30 Years of Hockey Partnership
Description of the Project
In commemoration of ŠKODA AUTO's 30-year partnership with the Ice Hockey World Championship, a unique collection of NFT hockey pucks was created and auctioned off, raising over 17 ETH (approximately 700,000 CZK at the time of the auction). The month-long auction sold 30 pucks in three sets. The proceeds were used to purchase equipment for the Czech youth hockey team. This groundbreaking project, 30 Years in Hockey, was developed by our technology company BOOTIQ and I led the UX design & strategy in this project.
Main Goal of the Project
Increase visibility and engagement for ŠKODA AUTO in association with the Ice Hockey World Championship.
Raise funds to support the Czech youth hockey team.
Introduce ŠKODA AUTO to the world of NFTs and cryptocurrencies, marking their inaugural venture into this innovative domain.

Led the UX design for this national-scale project.
Collaborated on creating an NFT collection of hockey pucks signed by the Czech national hockey team.
Designed and tested a website detailing each year's history and provided a comprehensive guide on purchasing cryptocurrency for the event and acquiring NFTs.
Worked closely with top Czech influencers and marketing agencies for social media and marketing strategies.
Consulted with the ŠKODA AUTO team on cryptocurrency and NFT marketplace strategies.
Developed the strategy, timeline, wireframes, and website design.
Iterated designs and presented to stakeholders.
Managed project primarily with developers.
Consulted with Czech influencers Petr Mára and TMBK.
Selected the platform for NFT auction, recommending OpenSea for its widespread recognition and Satori.art for its ability to connect the physical and digital worlds.
Established and selected a cryptocurrency wallet (e.g., MetaMask).
Chose Ethereum (ETH) as the currency.
Prepared the NFT collection and auction on OpenSea.
Conducted website testing.
Limitations
The entire project had to be completed within one month, from initial sketches to launching the website, the NFT puck auction, and monitoring performance.
Cryptocurrency was relatively new, and explaining its purchase to the Czech public was challenging.
High time pressure throughout the project.

Process
Design and Strategy Development: As a consultant for ŠKODA AUTO, I was responsible for designing and developing the UX/UI strategy for a project that revolved around non-fungible tokens (NFT) and cryptocurrency aspects. During the project, I worked closely with the ŠKODA AUTO team to consult on various aspects of NFT and cryptocurrency, including feasibility, technical execution, and strategic planning.
Website Design and Testing: One of my key responsibilities was designing and testing a website that served as a user-friendly and informative platform for auction participants. My focus was to ensure the website's functionality and ease of use, which played a significant role in the success of the auction. I also collaborated with developers to ensure that the website was optimally designed in terms of user experience, interface, and technical requirements.
Collaboration and Consultation: As part of the project, I worked with influencers to promote the auction and increase its visibility. I also collaborated with developers to ensure that the technical execution of the project was seamless, with minimal disruptions to the auction process.
NFT auction preparation and Launch: Finally, I was part of a team who set up and launched the NFT auction on OpenSea, managing the collection's presentation and sale process. This involved managing the auction's backend, including the bidding process, final sale, and distribution of NFTs to the winning bidders. Overall, the project was a success, with the auction generating significant interest and attracting a large number of bidders.
Outcomes
The NFT puck collection was successfully auctioned for 17 ETH, equivalent to over 700,000 CZK. The month-long auction saw the sale of 30 pucks in three sets, with one buyer purchasing five pucks at once. The proceeds, amounting to 13.94 ETH after taxes and fees, were used to support the Czech youth hockey team. The project not only demonstrated BOOTIQ's IT solution capabilities but also successfully introduced ŠKODA AUTO into the NFT and cryptocurrency world.

Došlo tak k propojení fyzických puků i jejich digitální verze a zároveň jsme z výtěžku aukce podpořili český mládežnický hokej. Díky technologickému know-how BOOTIQ proběhlo spuštění portálu i samotná aukce hladce a děkujeme jejich vývojářskému týmu za vydařenou spolupráci,“ dodává Libor Šedivák, vedoucí marketingu ŠKODA AUTO Česká republika.
Ve třech aukcích se vydražily puky v celkové hodnotě 17,06 ETH, což je za současné hodnoty ETH něco málo přes 700 000 tisíc korun.
